What to Try
Book a one-bedroom oceanfront suite for the private terrace and unobstructed sea view, then use the property as a base for Statia's real headline act — the diving. The concierge will line up a two-tank morning with a local dive operator (the Aquarium and Charles Brown wreck sites are both nearby), and you can be back at the pool by lunch. On land, borrow one of the e-bikes to coast down into Oranjestad's Historic Core, or reserve the padel court for a late-afternoon match before the heat lifts.

Ask the front desk to arrange a sunset drive up to the rim of The Quill — the dormant volcano that dominates the island — rather than trying to hike it in the midday sun. The road stops just short of the crater trailhead, and from the pull-off you get a 360-degree view over Statia, Saba and St. Kitts with almost no one else around. Bring a jacket; the wind up there is surprisingly cool.
The Practical Stuff
Location: Road to Knippenga, roughly a 5-minute drive from central Oranjestad and about 15 minutes from F.D. Roosevelt Airport (EUX). A rental car or scooter is strongly recommended — taxis on Statia are limited and the property sits outside easy walking distance of restaurants. The hotel is adults-friendly and better suited to couples, divers and quiet-seekers than families with young children. Reception can coordinate airport pickup, dive packages and island tours; book these in advance since operators are small and fill quickly in high season (December–April).
