Tijon Parfumerie — Create Your Own Eau de Parfum in Grand Case
The island's dedicated perfume studio with 2-hour workshops blending from 100+ essential oils in Grand Case.
Why Go
Tijon Parfumerie is the only dedicated perfume-making studio on St. Martin, tucked into Grand Case's Petite Plage area with trained perfumers leading 2-hour workshops. You are not dabbing pre-mixed samples — you are working with over 100 essential oils and aroma compounds to build a fragrance from the ground up, learning top-heart-base note architecture as you go. The finished product goes into a labeled 30ml or 50ml bottle that genuinely smells like you made something, not like you bought something off a shelf.
The Experience
The workshop runs approximately two hours. A trained perfumer introduces the principles of fragrance construction — how top notes create the first impression, heart notes define the character, and base notes provide staying power. You then work through the oil library, which includes over 100 options ranging from traditional florals and citruses to Caribbean-inspired botanicals. The blending process is hands-on and iterative: you test combinations on paper strips, adjust ratios, and build toward a balanced formula. The final blend goes into your chosen bottle size (30ml or 50ml) with a custom label. Beyond the workshop, the boutique sells ready-made Tijon perfumes, candles, soaps, and gift sets inspired by Caribbean scents — useful if you want a finished product without the workshop commitment.
What to Try
The full 2-hour workshop is the essential experience — shorter browsing visits miss the educational depth and the satisfaction of building something from scratch. If you are visiting Grand Case for dinner, time the workshop for late afternoon and walk to a restaurant afterward with your new creation on. For non-workshop visitors, the Caribbean-inspired candles and soaps make better gifts than generic duty-free fragrance.
Insider Tip
Grand Case's Petite Plage location means you can pair this with a Grand Case Beach Club visit or a walk down the restaurant strip. Book ahead — workshops have limited spots and high-season demand. If you want to recreate or refill your blend later, Tijon keeps your formula on file. The workshop makes an excellent couples activity, especially before a Grand Case dinner.
