Petite Plage — Secluded Snorkeling Beach at Grand Case
A tiny hidden beach with Creole Rock views and calm turquoise water.
Why Go
Petite Plage is a small, secluded beach at the northern end of Grand Case, tucked away from the restaurant strip and accessible via a short path from the road. Fine white sand, crystal-clear turquoise water, views of Creole Rock, and barely a soul in sight.
The Experience
Petite Plage lives up to its name — it is petite. But what it lacks in size, it delivers in quality. The tiny crescent of white sand is sheltered in a cove at the far end of Grand Case, protected from waves and currents. The water is clear enough to see fish from the shore, and Creole Rock — a small rocky island just offshore — is visible from the beach and reachable by a short swim or kayak for excellent snorkeling. The beach is rarely crowded because most visitors gravitate toward the larger Grand Case Beach or head to Orient Bay. A short path from the road leads down to the sand, and the walk itself adds to the feeling of discovery.
What to Try
Snorkel in the calm, clear water — fish and marine life are visible right from the beach. Swim or kayak to Creole Rock for the best snorkeling on this stretch of coast. Simply float in the calm water and enjoy the quiet. Bring a mask and snorkel — the underwater viewing rivals any organized snorkel tour.
Insider Tip
Petite Plage is the locals' snorkeling beach in Grand Case. The calm water and proximity to Creole Rock make it one of the best shore-entry snorkeling spots on the island. There are no facilities, so bring everything you need. Visit in the morning for the calmest water and best underwater visibility. The path down can be easy to miss — look for it past the Grand Case Beach Club at the northern end of the bay.
